    Great Gift

    I bought this rod and reel combo for my girlfriend. She loves it ! Great gift, nice feel, casts beautifully. Excellent quality.

    Purple!

    This is the only fishing pole that is purple and of good quality. I haven't fished with it yet, but I'm excited to take it out in the spring.

    Wife loves it!

    Bought this for my wife for her birthday and she loves it. It reels smooth, casts a mile, and you feel every nibble. Couldn't be happier.

    The Elite rod is the highlight of this combo

    I was curious to try the latest series of Ugly Stik, and the ladies combo was attractive looking, and the features of the rod were just what I was looking for at this time (2 pc, 6 ft, etc.). The rod performed very nicely, as it has a fast taper, which makes it load and cast nicely with a wide array of lure weights. It was also quite sensitive about transmitting the vibrations of the lure moving, hitting objects, and getting bumped by fish. I was disappointed to find the front flange on the reel spool had not been properly machined and was rough and sharp along the exposed edge. I decided that I wanted to use the combo right away, so I put the spool up on a lathe to reshape and dress the edge of the spool, rather than send the whole combo back for replacement . The reel is pleasantly smooth in most of its operations. I think that the drag could have been a bit more smooth, though.
