Purchased because of durability and reputation. I winter fish off boat slips where ice can be skim to and two inches. Most all is jig fishing using an Vexilar SE8 flashing locator. If fish are present, I see them and the rest is up to me to entice them with bait presentation.

Well black Friday this was a must have in medium heavy. I got this before we even had ice. Been hooking into small pike using a jaw jacker with it. Finally got a big fish 28" long the medium heavy rod combo had plenty of stopping power as well did the reel. I'm very impressed. It sat out in snow all day and the reel didn't freeze. Check out this fish we caught & released!

I bought 4 of these rods to use on my jawjackers and automatic fisherman units.The one piece steel rod guides and the fibreglass tips stand up much better to the stress of being snapped up violently when a good size fish hits your bait.Ugly sticks don't have to be babied, don't break your wallet and get the job done.

The rods arrived on time and in perfect condition! I have not used them yet but you can tell that they are the same terrific value that Ugly sticks have been for a long, long time. For my money, their products are the best value for the dollar out there. After 35+ years and many rods (all still in service!), shopping for fishing rods is very easy to me!
