This combo is one of the toughest (for its size), the most smooth, fun and lightweight rods I’ve had. I caught a 10-pounder lingcod with it a couple days ago and it put up a good fight, but nothing this rod & reel couldn’t handle! I would recommend this combo to anyone wether you’re looking to just get into fishing or if you’re an experienced angler looking for a good lightweight jigging rod that won’t break even if you hook something huge.

Holds up to its name! Can't beat an ugly stik and if you do, it won't break lol! Love the smoothness and how lightweight it is. Casting out is a dream.

Bought this rod last year, used it all summer salt and fresh water. Very sensitive and just all around a great setup. The reel is smooth never had a single issue all year.

It is a great ultralight combo. The size and feel of the rod is fantastic.

Very nice rods. Bought 4. Th reels that came with the combo are ok but I can't expect a whole lot at $20. They are smooth.
