This little rod is the truth. Reeed I’m this 5lb+ Channel Catfish using 5lb braid with 4lb leader line. It’s my UL setup using a Shimano Sedona 500. Used a 1/4 of a night crawler on a Creek Life Lure 1/32oz barbless jig head. Took about 5 minutes or so to reel him in I let him tire himself out instead of trying to muscle him in. Plus it was fun letting everyone walking by hearing the drag screaming as he ran. When I finally pulled him out people were like he is huge. Yup he is. Took a couple snaps with him and put him back. Same fish he just flopped around in the mud before I could get the pic with the rod and reel. Get you at least 1. Throw or give the reel away it’s ready put something else on it like I did.

Landed a 30 Lbs blue cat with this rod. I have 4 of them and they fit perfectly under my bench seats on my pontoon boat and I keep the top up so the length works perfectly for me

I use a dock runner for my spinning reels, and a dock demon for my baitcaster on my kayak. These short rods are perfect for pan fish/bass fishing on rivers. I have caught many big fish on this tiny rod.. I recently went fishing with a 6ft rod on my kayak, and I forgot how annoying normal size rods in a kayak is! Just take off the cheap reel and stow it as a backup for if a reel breaks or birdnests.
Daiwa Legalis 2000S-P reel is the perfect combo for this rod.

I bought this combo at Walmart, and for the price I can’t complain (much), starting this with saying, the reel is ABSOLUTE JUNK, I immediately replaced it with a Shimano 1000 reel, with 10lb braid, and let me tell ya, once I did that, this rod is SO much fun. I fish northeast Saltwater, this thing has caught hundreds of squid, some mackerel, scup, dogfish, even bluefish have been taken on that rod. It’s a hilarious amount of fun.
